If you have been reading my blog since I first launched my business in 2018, you might know that I made pull-apart cupcakes and a heart-shaped cake to create a Purple Heart Medal for a National Purple Heart Day celebration last year.
For this year's celebration, I made something a little different. I made two cakes and combined them to create one large medal. The “ribbon” section was chocolate and the “medal” was vanilla. Both were frosted with buttercream. “George” was made from gold-colored fondant and the rest of the medal was colored buttercream (even the stars and stripes).
I was honored to once again be asked to provide a cake for this occasion, and am already thinking about what to make for next year's celebration!
