I was honored to be asked by Icing Smiles to donate another cake to a sick child, this one a 9-year-old boy who loves Fortnite. His mom asked for a marble cake with buttercream frosting, and left the actual design of the Fortnite decorations up to me. Since I am not that familiar with the game, I enlisted by boyfriend's help to come up with the design. I used a grass tip as well as blue buttercream for the water, and cake crumbs for the "dirt" on top. I made the mountain, the banner, the coins, and the character from fondant; I handpainted the details using edible icing gel. Delivering the cake was a bit of challenge but he finally got his cake and I was happy to make it for him.
