What do you do when your daughter has so many interests, you aren't sure what theme to go with for her birthday cake? In this case, you order two distinct cakes...problem solved!
The birthday girl loves a variety of sports, especially golf, which is depicted on one cake. The "activities cake" has her as the golfer on top with various exercise icons around the sides. This is a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. I loved using a grass tip for the golf green, and I added a pearl sprinkle for the golf ball. The downward dog yoga pose is my favorite of all the black fondant icons.
The "books and bikes" cake also represents the birthday girl; she is a teacher who rides her bike to school. I put an apple in her hand and hand-painted books all around! This is a vanilla cake with lemon buttercream under the fondant.
